2011 CTMH Calendar January and February Pages

Hey, I have finally made 2 pages of my 2011 Calendar!

This was a blank 12x12 calendar from Close To My Heart. I am slowly turning the blank pages into my own calendar pages. :) I use last years pictures so I can reflect back on what happened the previous year. I had made one last year too, but did not post a lot of pictures of it.

This calendar makes a great gift too, so if you are smart you can already start working on your 2012 calendar. :) Just a thought....

So this is my January page. Not a great picture of it but hey, it is here ! Simple, not a lot of work put into it but I did not want to make it to fancy. I wanted the pictures to be the focus not the embelsihmennts. Last year in January we went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I used CTMH stamps and ink for the month.

My February page: My son turned one. I also wanted to incorporate Valentine's Day and Love in the layout so I used some simple rub on flowers and red hearts and Jillibeans Alphas to write February.

I can not wait to take my old calendar off the wall and hang the new one up!

Christmas is almost here!

Hi,

Phew, I am so excited to say that my Beigli turned out great! I was baking all day even my hubby helped a bit - he was grinding the poppy seeds for me. I made walnut and poppy-seed beigli. This is always such a dreaded task to do at Christmas. AND how cool that the pastry did not crack either on the top! :)

Beigli, sometimes spelled bejgli is a Hungarian pastry consisting of a roll of sweet yeast bread with a dense, rich, bittersweet filling. The filling is a paste of either walnuts or poppy seeds. It is a popular cuisine in other parts of Central Europe, Eastern Europe and in Israel as well. Beigli is commonly eaten at Christmas and Easter time.

Hungarian Christmas sweets and pastries served at Christmas time are not numerous. In general no other pastries are served, and the traditional candy szaloncukor, large amounts of wrapped decorative fondant candies hung on the Christmas tree as a decoration, also consumed during the Christmas holidays. All Hungarian families serve both the walnut and the poppy seed rolls.

My favourite is the walnut roll - dios bejgli. :)
Here is a picture of my bejgli I made today.

Szaloncukor (literally: "parlour candy") is a type of sweets traditionally associated with Christmas in Hungary. It is usually made of fondant, covered by chocolate and wrapped in shiny coloured foil, then hung on the Christmas tree as decoration.

The tradition of hanging these candies on the Christmas tree started in the 19th century. It was named szaloncukor because the tree usually stood in the parlour (szalon in Hungarian). (Cukor means "sugar" or "candy").

The name comes from the German-Austrian Salonzuckerl, this is why the original name was szalonczukkedli.

Fondant candies originally came in a few flavours (vanilla and strawberry for example), but now there is a wide variety of different kinds of candies, including jelly, coconut, hazelnut and lots of other flavours. It is usually hung on the tree with strings or small metal hooks.

The Perfect Man

It is Friday night, I am not feeling that great, so we decided to go out for dinner instead of me cooking something. Great! :) As I am getting ready I hear Chloe reading a book....The Perfect Man. I could not help myyself but laugh. You go girl, it is never too early to search for the perfect man!

I am smarter than a GR 1 student

This really made my day. On Thursday I got to go and help out in my daughter's class. Did some "work" for the teacher and also helped reading with some kids. It was an awesome opportunity to do something different and observe my Gr 1 daughter in class. She is a sweetheart. :)

Anyway, I take this little girl out of the class room and she directs me to head to the computer room, which is next door. Noisy, but we get to sit on chairs which is a bonus ( yay I get to sit down for 7 minutes and 32 seconds ) and we start reading. A bunch of GR 3 students are staring at us occasionally, but we just focus on reading. This book is about flooding that this little girl is reading - lets call her "A"....We come to a scene in the book where the pictures show a man in a motor boat, and a family standing on their balcony of their house, the roads are flooded. "A" stops reading and looks at me wondering: "Why do they need a boat? " Hmmm...good question...So I start explaining...well, the roads are flooded, the water is deep, they might not know how to swim, they need to go to a safe place...bla bla bla....so when I am done explaining she say to me with a serious but happy voice: " You are very smart".

I guess I am smarter than Gr 1 student. :)

The only thing I kept thinking of that day was this sweet comment....It really made me smile and made my day.

Bicycle Double Page Layout

Hello my fellow scrapbookers!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I am not doing much at all today just laying low, feeling very tired. Pretty much a lazy couch kinda day. Trust me it is a bliss, since I do not get to lay on the couch a lot and do nothing with with 2 kids around, but we are visiting at grandma's so she was busy with the grand kids today.

Here is a double page layout I made for my daughter. She was getting ready to go out for the frst time on her two - wheeler. All summer long she kept asking us to take off her trainig wheels which daddy was not keen on - worries too much. :) So he just kept adjusting the training wheels so it felt like Chloe was riding a two - wheeler once she was in balance. So to our excitement just before school started this fall we took her training wheels off and she took off no problem! She was very proud, and we were too. :)

Easy Chicken Broccoli Divan With Fusilli

What a beautiful day! I am enjoying the sun shine through the huge glass doors up north in grandmas living room.I tried to take a nap in the arm chair, but grandma and toddler boy was too noisy playing with bells and listening to videos recorded on grandmas phone. Oh well, I got some rest anyway. Everybody is busy outside so I took the opportunity to write this post while it is peaceful in here. :)

So here is the recipe of this divan I fed, well try to fed my family last night. :)

Ingredients:

3 cups hot cooked broccoli florets
2 cups cubed,cooked,skinless chicken breast
1 can cream of broccoli soup or mushroom soup
1/3 cup 1% milk
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tbsp dry bread crumbs
` tsp margarine or butter, melted
3 cups of uncooked tri-coloured fusilli

1. Arrange broccoli and chicken in 1.5 qt ( 1.5 L ) baking dish. Pour in mixture of soup and milk. Sprinkle with cheese. Top with mixture of bread crumbs and margarine.
2.bake at 425 F ( 220C ) until heated through - about 25 minutes.
3. Cook fusilli according to package directions,omitting salt, and serve immediately with divan.

here is the tofu version.....just cubed up some tofu and fried it until golden brown.

I used an organ can of Amy's cream of mushroom soup....lol...it was a mistake. Next time I will try this recipe with cream of broccoli since my daughter hated this dish. I liked it. My toddler dude had a good amount for dinner. The husband picked out all the mushroom pieces into a small dish...So over all since my family is not a mushroom lover unlike me this dish was not a hit. As I said next time it is going to be made with cream of broccoli. Other than that it is a great weeknight dish.

Poppy Facts

•During the Napoleonic Wars, the poppy drew attention as the mysterious flower that bloomed over the graves of fallen soldiers.
•In the 20th Century, the poppy again was widely noticed after soils in France and Belgium became rich in lime from rubble during the First World War. The little red flowers flourished around the graves of the war dead as they had 100 years earlier.
•In 1915, Guelph, Ontario native John McCrae, a doctor serving with the Canadian Forces Artillery, recorded this phenomenon in his famous poem In Flanders Fields.
•Two days before the Armistice, Moina Michael, an American woman from Athens, Georgia, read the McCrae poem and was inspired to wear a poppy year-round in memory of the war dead.
•In 1920, Madame E. Guérin of France visited the United States and happened to meet Miss Michael at the YMCA at Columbia University, where the latter was a volunteer. Madame Guérin then resolved to sell handmade poppies around Armistice Day to raise money for poor children in the war-torn areas of Europe.
•In 1921, Field-Marshall Earl Haig, the former Commander-in-Chief of the British Armies in France and Belgium and the principal founder of the British Legion, was sold on Madame Guérin's fundraising idea and approved organization of the British Poppy Day Appeal by the Legion to raise money for poor and disabled veterans.
•The same year, Madame Guérin visited Canada, and convinced the Great War Veterans Association (predecessor to the Royal Canadian Legion) to similarly adopt the poppy as a symbol of remembrance in aid of fundraising.
•Today, the Poppy Campaign is one of the Royal Canadian Legion's most important programs. The money raised from poppy sales provides direct assistance for ex-service people in financial distress, as well as funding for medical appliances and research, home services, care facilities, and numerous other purposes.

PS: My Father in law just mentioned that he had 3 uncles who fought in the war and has some paper and medals from them I will take pictures on the weekend and share it with you.

Thankful Layout for Sandy's Workshop

YAY! I am so happy, finally a scrapbook related post! A layout! A double page layout!
Do not ask, I have no idea what products I used, I will get back to you on it once I visit The Workshop again, hopefully next week. I really wanted to get some proof up hereof my weekend away.
But anyway, here is a double layout for your eyes...

I love the photos, they are one of my fave fall pics of my kids. We were up north at one of the local pumpkin patches. They had fun playing peek-a-boo.

Mommy's Little Helper - Boy's pants with pink line

So I was away for the weekend, as you know I scrapbook, and I enjoyed every minute of the retreat. Thanks to my darling husband who looked after our kids all weekend, keeping them busy with play dates, going to the indoor play park, visiting with friends etc...God Bless him, he even helped me doing laundry! I guess somebody washed the dark clothes with some red clothes, well, I can just assume since I did not even ask him...I guess Ishould just go now and mention it to him just to get an idea as to what happened. Never mind, it is just a pair of pants and I was away, who cares right?!

So here is my little man's pants with the white lines turned pink. :)

I appreciate everything my husband does for our family!

Scrapbooking weekend away - Strattford

So I am back from an awesome scrapbooking weekend thanks to Sandy's Workshop and my 3 room mates .

Friday morning

My friend "A" picked me up Friday morning and after unloading all her stuff from my truck and loading all our scrapbooking stuff into my truck we were all set to go. We were followed by our friends "I" and "N" to Strattford. The drive took a little more than 2 hours but listen to this! My new scrapbooking friend "k" drove ALL the way from OTTAWA! Seriously! 6 hour drive! :)

"A", "N" and I had a tasty lunch at the local Williams Coffee Shop! OMG! Yummy french onion soup with grilled vegetable goat cheese pannini and a delicious cappuccino was my lunch.Pictures to follow soon! Come on ladies I need my pics e-mailed to me! :)

After we settled in we started to create layouts after layouts. Look at me! Heheheee...pictures were sticking everywhere! Later I will post some pictures of the layouts I made.

What a crazy day! Saturday afternoon all of a sudden the hotel's fire alarm went off ! The alarm was deafening. The only thing I was worried about was what happens if the sprinkler system kicks in!!! All I could think of is where do I hide my paper and pictures and all my beloved scrapbooking supplies. So after 5 minutes of alarm noise "N" and I decided to get out of the Hotel...Guess what, I ended up at Williams Coffee shop again.

So the firemen came, found nothing, alarms were turned off by the time we got back. Funny, or not I guess, It made us nervous, we smelled electrical burning smell just around the corner where our room was. See the firemen checking and testing...Yeah, I know, I had to take pictures.

Us crazy ladies on Saturday night! We had a great time did not we??? We laughed so hard our stomach were in pain, and tears were rolling down our cheeks.I can not wait to scrapbook the pictures we took this weekend especially that infamous long note "A" wrote.

Guess what!? We needed this trolley well, not me in specific, but some ladies brought an insane amount of scrappy supplies! This was the transportation device between the car and scrappy room.

I managed to make 15, well, 16 double page layouts! Pictures are coming soon! :) I promise.

Crockpot Stuffing Recipe

Here is the recipe of the stuffing I made today. Simple, basic recipe, no nuts, no fruits, perfect for my hubby... He does not like any fruity stuffed meat or stuffing.

10 cups of dry bread cubes ( I used pumpernickel and white combo )
1 1/2 cups of chopped celery
1 1/2 cups of chopped onion
2 tsp poultry seasoning
1 1/2 tbsp parsley flakes
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/3 cup butter
1 tbsp chicken bouillon
1 1/2 cups hot water

Directions:

Stir hot water, chicken bouillon and butter together in a bowl. Place bread cubes, celery, onions and seasonings in a separate large mixing bowl. Pour melted butter mixture over bread mixture and toss gently. Place into crockpot, cover; cook on low for 5-6 hours. For a moister stuffing add more hot water.

Why we have a brain???

It is Friday night, long weekend, actually the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend. I had a glass of wine with my dinner. I really enjoyed sipping on it. I hope this one sided conversation was not the product of this glass of wine playing a trick on my brain.:)

Anyway... here comes bedtime, as always kids need a snack, try to give them a healthy snack so they do not go bouncy bouncy on me before bedtime. Chloe, my 6 year old, who is in Gr 1 asks me: " Mom, do you know why we have a brain?"Ohh....this is one of those evenings...So I just simply say, no why Chloe? She says: You know when I listen to my radio in my room when Riley is awake? And do you know the song mommy Party in the USA?" ( Yeah, when she got this CD from PAPA all we had to listen to in the car was this song, NON-STOP, of course I know this song, how can I not!? I even made a scrapbooking page for her of this song. See a previous post...:) ). I say:" Yes."

She quickly goes on stuffing her mouth with rise krispies ( not the best bed time snack ): We have a brain so we can remember things. I have this song in my head now. Oh my Gosh! I can not get it out of it now!" So she smacks her own head and continues. The brain has lines you know mommy. It has lines like a-a-a-a-a and b-b-b-b-b and c-c-c-c-c-c. And once I saw a brain on PBS kids. A REAL brain she yells out. And you know the real brain has lines too. And there was a kids who touched the brain, he was this tall! She shows something which is half of her size.

I did not get a chance to say anything to respond anymore other than nodding my head. She was fast t eat her snack and ran up to brush her teeth not waiting for a comment.

What a 6 year old girl's brain goes through every day... :)

I just made steak strips in the crockpot marinated with soya sauce,teryaki sauce,olive oil, crushed garlic, fresh grated ginger. Stir fried nappa cabbage with onions and broccoli florets topped with seaseme seads with lots of soya and teryaki sauce. Teryaki tofu and Chinese noodles. YUM... Soon I will post pics of my creation! Stay tuned!

Spring Fling Challenge #6

I used this photo that I took last Saturday on our family farm...Spring time means: planting season. I love gardening, and we certainly enjoy all the vegetables we grow...our potatoes lasted till now, delicious fingerling were the BEST. I also put tons of green and yellow beans in the freezer and still have some. Oh, and my tasty roasted tomatoes sauce......
The first thing to come up was spinach , asparagus, and some onions this year.
I am looking forward to a busy weekend planting potatoes and onions. :)
So this picture was just so perfect to work with for this challenge. I hope you like mu Haiku poem too I wrote for the layout.

Twilight/New Moon Movie Party

Yes, I got pressured into reading The Twilight Saga.... :) I am actually on the last of the four books. I have to say so far Breaking Dawn is my favourite one. As much as I love reading, relaxing with a good book I found it exhausting.... hehehe I do not get stuff done since all I do is read ( well...I have not been around here posting my layouts and cards right... ?! )

How do you like this awesome cardboard "poster" I have? I love it. And I am going to bring it to a girls day out-movie day to be exact this coming Saturday. We are planning to watch Twilight and New Moon. And yes we decided to go ahead and order a photo cake as well,with Jacob, Bella and Edward on it. I will be back to let you know how I liked the movies and of course the cake.

So here is my double page layout for the Spring Fling Challenge.

This layout was inspired by Chloe of course and Miley Cyrus's Party In The USA song. As soon as we sit in the van Chloe yells out: " Can you put Party In the USA on!!?? " Gosh, if I have to listen to it one more time, lol.... I took this picture of her and the Hannah Montana impersonator in the March Break. ( Note: Chloe thinks this girl looks more like Taylor Swift than Hannah Montana :) )

The weather has been so awful compare to what we were having here in March Break. Going from 17 Degrees to -2 and snow and rain...it is just not fair! :( So to bring a little cheer I decided to make some Easter cards and I should probably mail out soon...

The Green Challenge....with bling

March break is almost over...yeah... so far we had a great time and we were really so very busy every day. So yes this is why I have not been posting much here lately.... We spent a lot of time outside with the kids, biking, going to local parks, library programs, play dates with friends. I took Chloe to the local mall one day to see a Hanna Montana impersonator :)

Today I was not the happiest since I left my charged camera batteries at home. We went to Bruce's Mill to the Sugar Maple Syrup festival. Awesome! My girl is so smart :) of course she is smart she is my baby....lol I tested her tonight after dinner on what she learned on our trip today. She deserves an A+... She knows all the steps and terms.I asked her what is maple syrup used for and she said popcorn....lol There was a bag of maple flavoured popcorn at the store.... Ken and I had a good laugh.

It's a Zoo card

I love this little monkey- He is from "It's a Zoo " Stamp set from CTMH.

I mixed the Grown with Love Stamp Set and It's a Zoo Stamp set to create this card. I also used: Brown Bag Cardstock, White Daisy Cardstock, Chocolate Stamp Pad,Sweet Leaf Stamp Pad,Topiary Stamp Pad, Hemp ( to hang the little monkey), Liquid Glass ( on the monkey's belly) All products used are CTMH ( except the banana stickers ).

Hopefully it is not going to be a zoo at my house today!

Vacation Layouts

I know, it has been a while, but things get reeeeaaaal busy sometimes in my house. :)

I went to a day crop yesterday where I made these layouts. I drove with the help of the GPS- lol-I never used one before. A big snow storm, I have no idea where I am going ( I am bad with directions :) ) but I GOT THERE! I had a lot of fun, laughter thanks to " my girls".

Hope you like them. :)

Here I used Sweet Leaf Collection Designer Ribbon rounds from CTMH and Crystal Blue card stock.

I just love these ribbons, I think they go so well with the layout.

CTMH Products I used: On Target Dimensional Elements, Heartfelt Die-cuts Wonder collection, Crystal Blue , Sweet Leaf and Moonstruck stamp pad,Bird Basics Stamp set.

Recycle - Reuse ....

.... and mix it up with some great CTMH products!

For this layout I used:
Paper Lunch bag, paper Clip, Tissue Paper, Coffee Cup Sleeve,Pencil Shaving- These were my recycle-reuse products.

From CTMH I used: Veranda Level 2 Paper Pack, Chocolate Cardstock, Colonial White Cardstock, Chocolate Collection Ribbon, Craft Button, Twitterpated Level 2 Paper Pack, Just Blooms Spring Blossom paper flowers ( butterfly ), Sanding Kit, Liquid Glass, Primavera Rub-ons.

Here is the layout:

Close up of the Tissue paper Flower and next to it is the Pencil Shaving. I added Liquid Glass on top of the pencil shaving and I also used it to glue it down. Juts wanted to make sure it sticks, Tombo would not have worked with it since the pencil shaving breaks apart so easy.

I glued the paper shaving on the coffee cup sleeves-yes it is from Starbucks...lol

Rub-on Primavera...I love rub-ons :) I teared some off the paper lunch bag and used the rub-on on it.
I attached the paper butterfly with a paper clip to the paper lunch bag.

Valentine's Day Cards made for my loves

Happy Valentine's Day to Everybody! I made these cards for my loves. My Husband, My Daughter and My Son. They mean the whole World to me and I love them from the bottom of my heart.

Ok, so this is the first time I EVER did sewing!!!! My mother-in-law showed me how to set up the sewing machine but when I ended up trying to do it on my own it was not that easy...hahah I had a hard time figuring out what goes where, the thread through here etc...but I did it! lol, it is not perfect but I did sewing, and I have been dying to do it on my cards...

I stamped the words to make accents, and inked the edges of the paper.
I LOVE how the Rub-ons look on the page...the little flower and the "sweet" just makes the page.

Riley Turns 1 Year Old

I clearly remember the night when my water broke. How can I EVER forget.I remember getting out of the shower at midnight ( yes, I told you all before I am a night owl ) and standing by my husband's side of the bed with tears in my eyes telling him I just want to experience my water breaking etc..I was a few days overdue and I really did not want to be induced.So I left to lay down. Miracles happen....as soon as I laid down guess what?! MY WATER BROKE!!! Now I was having happy tears flooding my eyes. I yelled out loud : MY WATER BROKE KENNY!!! His response was:" How do you know?!: DUH! What a dumb question. I say: " well I do not think I peed myself". He is wondering if he could see it so I am keep yelling at him,JUST GET ME A TOWEL! YIPPEE, I was so happy and excited and nervous at the same time....We are going to have another baby soon, well I hoped soon, but that was not the case. I can not have everything. So I called up my mother-in-law to come on over because we are heading out to the hospital. Unfortunately as soon as I laid down my contractions stopped and after having them every 2-4 minutes they were 7-8 minutes apart again. I was exhausted after not having to sleep for a day, I had to be up and walking, roaming the stairs of the hospital till I was almost 9 Cm's. I pushed for about 1 1/2 - thanks to the wonderful Midwifes of York Region I had my baby boy Riley William Darcy Duncan at 12:34 pm on the 12th of February,2009. I loved every moment of the delivery, and I can clearly remember everything ( I can not say the same thing for my daughter's birth - I had a Demerol shot so I passed out- but it was a natural birth with Riley ). The wait, the pain, the exhaustion was worth it! I love you Riley or Daisy- this is what Chloe calls her brother ( I have no idea why she calls him this name, but it is kinda cute ), you are an amazing little man, son, brother, grandson....You are always happy, you make us all smile. You are the best gift to your the best gift we could have ever given to Chloe!

My Son's Birthday card made with CTMH products

My son Riley is turning one on the 12th of February. Time flies! :) I designed this card for him last night using all CTMH products.

My Pages For a 6x6 Album Swap

We had to use, black, white, brown and aqua colours. This is what I came up with.

I used CTMH products: White Daisy Cardstock, Crystal Blue Cardstock, Black Cardsctock, Chocolate Cardstock, Topstitch Level 2 Paper Pack ( patterned paper), Love Birds Stamp Set, Black Ink, Cocoa Grosgrain Ribbon.

I also used Copic markers to colour the birds in and Starbucks paper sleeves ( that they put on the coffee cups) to make the heart embellishment and the little strip of paper under the bow.

I hope the "swappers" will like them!

Birthday cards for moms. - Yeah, I am finally back!

HELLLOOOOO! Finally I am BACK! My family and I went away in the middle of January to Punta Cana. I was busy packing and trying to find some summer clothes for my little guy who outgrew everything! We really had an amazing time, the kids had a blast! The weather was not Hot, but enjoyable which was perfect for the kids. Yep, I have no tan. :)

My mom's Birthday is just a day before my mother-in-laws birthday. I have made each a card.

Spring Time- Caboodle card

My little boy who is almost 11 months old and my 5 1/2 year old big girl keep me very busy, lol, but I still have time to get my hands on some of the new CTMH papers and stamp sets. ( just a note, I am a night owl - I should go to bed early, and see it is close to midnight! )

Felicity layouts and Reindeer - gifts

Hello There! Finally I had a chance to post some layouts I made. Whew, it looks like things are starting to get back to normal... Chloe is back to school, I took the Christmas deco down on the weeekend ( I still need to put it away in the crawl space, but at least it is in the basement! )

Here is a Reindeer "layout". I found this idea on the internet, isn't is so cute?! And it is so easy to make. Just trace the kids hands and feet, cut it out, glue them down, find 3 buttons and that is it you'll need.

I used CTMH Juniper cardstock, CTMH Brown bag cardstock, Chocolate buttons from CTMH and Believe Caps and believe Lowercase Stamps sets, Perfect Day paper kit from CTMH.
The date stamp is from CTMH-December Stamp of The Month.

Here are a few Layout I created with the New Felicity Kit Collection! I just love these colours, they are perfect for my little pumpkins' pictures. I also use the following product from CTMH: Liquid glass, Chocolate cardstock, Chocolate Ribbon Rounds Collection and buttons, Natural Hemp,Chocolate brads, Crystal Blue cardstock, White Daisy brads.

It is Christmas Eve and I just wanted to wish a Merry Christmas to everybody! As part of my Hungarian tradition we opened up presents already. :) My family and I are having such a great time already. I am tired: a day full of cooking, cleaning, eating, opening presents, keeping the kids busy and more eating. I truly enjoy this time of the year and I adore my kids. It makes my heart warm when I look at them and see how much they adore each other. I am thankful for my husband and I love him so ... :) xo

Snow day and some Jingle paper cheer

I am not sure if I should be happy or not. Winter finally arrived. We had wet heavy snow all morning. It is always so pretty to see huge snowflakes falling while you are inside sipping on a cup of hot coffee. But it is not pleasant when you are out trying to clear the bottom of the drive way after the snow plow comes by. Argh....I had to shovel a bit so I could get out...

Last year I was about 7 months pregnant with my son so my daughter and I did not get to enjoy the snow much. This year we are both looking forward to it, going sledding and building snowmen, making snowballs, oh what fun. I can not wait to see what Riley will think of snow ( he is 10 months in a few days ).

Here are some things I made yesterday. Enjoy!

A Christmas card for my parents and sister back home in Hungary.

What I used from CTMH: Juniper card stock, Jingle level 2 paper packet, Evergreen Stamp set, holiday Trinkets stamp set.

I hope they will like this card. I left the bottom strip empty so I can write a little note there to them.

Here is a layout of us visiting Santa. Yous should have all seen the look on my son's face when I planted him in Santa's lap. He kept looking at him with a very serious face for a long time. it was hard to get him distracted so he would look at the photographer.

What I used from CTMH: Believe Caps letters stamp set, Jingle level 2 paper packet, Mini Medley White Daisy Collection, Save the Date stamp set, Perfect Day level 2 paper packet, White Daisy stamp pad.

I made this card holder with the Jingle level 2 paper packet, Juniper ink pad, Believe Caps letters stamp set, and Noteworthy stamp set.

Wanted: Cookies!

Here are the two recipes I promised. Enjoy them!

Gingerbread People

3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup grated fresh ginger

( Decorate with icing, I just leave it plain and sprinkle it with icing sugar for a snow effect )

1. Stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves; set aside.In a large mixing bowl beat butter with electric mixer for 30 seconds. Add sugar; beat until combined. Add egg , molasses, vanilla, beat until combined. Beat in ginger and as much of the flour mixture as you can. Stir in remaining flour. Cover and chill dough for 3 hours or overnight, or until easy to handle.
2. Preheat oven to 375. On a lightly floured surface roll dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut dough using 5 inch gingerbread people cookie cutter ( you can use any shapes, I make this for Valentines, etc.. ) Arrange the cutout about 1 inch apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
3. Bake for 5-6 minutes or until edges are firm and bottoms are light and brown. Transfer cookies to wire racks.

To Store: Place cookies in layers separated by waxed paper in an airtight container, cover. Freeze unfrosted cookies for up to 3 months. Thaw cookies then decorate.

Peanut Butter Blossoms

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1 egg
2 Tbs milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cups all -purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
Milk Chocolate kisses

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl beat shortening and peanut butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add the 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Beat until combined. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in remaining flour.
2. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in the 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake in pre-heated oven for 10-12 mins or until edges are firm and bottoms are lightly browned. Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Transfer to wire racks. Cool.
Makes 54.

Same storage applies to this as to the gingerbread cookies. Also, the chocolate takes a while to harden.

So I was out this morning doing a Christmas card class and everybody really enjoyed making the cards. I had the class make some of the cards I have already posted here so there is no new picture for today. :)

While I was out my " Mail Lady " came by to get the recipe. My MIL said she was really touched and I guess she found out her name too: Paulette - what an unusual name.
She was very surprised to receive the recipe made into a little book for her. I am glad I could make her happy and bring some Holiday Cheer for her. I hope the grand kids as well as her will enjoy the cookies.

I really have to dash :) so come back tomorrow to find the recipes on my blog.

Recipe for my Mail Lady and Thank You Card/ Merry Christmas Card

My Mail Lady's husband passed away not long ago. I was thinking about making her a sympathy card but instead I made this little recipe book up for her. I did not want to remind her of her loss again, I wanted to cheer her up! :)

She is such a sweet lady. In the summer heat I usually offer her some cold bottled water or a freeze and in the cold winter days something hot to drink and some home made cookies around Christmas. Last week when she delivered my mail I offered her some of the peanut butter kisses I made and she really enjoyed them. She also tasted my ginger bread cookies before.

Today she came to knock on my door to ask for the recipes so she could make them for her grand kids. I asked her to step in so I can make a copy of the recipes but she said she had to go but will get it tomorrow. So a light bulb went off in my head!

I will leave her a note inside the white page I left blank. I just have to think of what to say. :)

Ok, here we go again, second post today... :) I made 2 Baby Birthday Cards. Hope you like them. What I used:

Wow! It has been so long since I posted anything here. I have posted a few, really , few pictures of the layouts I made this weekend. Hope you like them, let me know what you think...

What I used from CTMH: Chocolate cardstock , Basic Craft Buttons,Designer Ribbon Rounds Chocolate Collection, Paper from the Sweet Home Level 2 paper packet, Shades of Chocolate Oval Ribbon Slides.

Here I used from CTMH: Chocolate Cardstock, paper from the level 2 Twitterpated paper packet, Designer Ribbon Rounds Ricrac collection.
I stamped the journaling note: I used Noteworthy stapset from CTMH and Inked the paper with Chololate ink.

I used from CTMH : Twitterpated Level 2 paper packet, Chocolate Collection Designer Ribbons, Dimensional Elements in Colour organic.

I stamped with Grown with love stampset from CTMH.

For the title I used the Headline Alphabet Large from CTMH.

I used Chocolte, Autumn terracotta cardstock and Grace level 2 paper packet from CTMH.

I stamped the little image and inked it with Chocolate ink. The stampset is called:Picture Perfect ( CTMH )

Here I used Chocolate Cradsctock, Autumn Terracotta cardstock, Sweet Home level 2 paper packet, Headline Alphabet Large stamp set for the title, Heart-felt ( felt ) Die cuts Wonder.

For this layout I used Twitterpated Level 2 paper packet, Chocolate cardstock, Heartfelt Whimsy Die cuts,Natural Hemp,Basic Craft Buttons, Autumn craft buttons, and the Picture Perfetc stamp set from CTMH.

Quick update: long weekend to 1st day of school

Our long weekend was pretty good. We had our friends come for dinner one night, we went to visit my in-laws at the farm and worked on the garden, and we took Chlo go-karting. She loved the little car and she wants to go back again and again. She enjoyed when daddy was sliding..... :) I love how she is relaxed holding her one arm on the side of the car.

My creative juices are not lowing.... I have not made anything in a week so I was really determined I would do something tonight....Here is the result a simple Thank You card with the Twitterpated kit.

Ahhh, today my big girl become an S.K. student. She was very excited to go to school and was happy to showcase her new Hannah Montana backpack....She even had to show Mrs. Turner, who I am sure was impressed. Chloe had a really good day, and I was very busy in the kitchen ...While Riley had a nap in the am I made a loaf of banana bread with pecans, home made tomatoe sauce ( I roasted the tomatoes in the oven ), the tomatoes from our ( MIL ) farm, and curried potatoe and leek soup ( these vegetables are also produced on our farm )...yum,. I did not get a chance to make zucchini for Riley, I still have some in the freezer anyway.

Ouch, I am just tired and sore...I went to a spin class last night with a friend of mine and thanks to her I am in pain...My core is hurting...she did not tell me that it was an advanced class ( being my second I thought I did pretty well ). It is all good I need to get into shape. :)

Chloe finally got her new Hannah Montana The Movie DVD. What a rip off! No , they can not just sell one DVD with the movie in it. There are free in a box. Listen to this, ! One Blu Ray with the dance moves on it as extras, one for the computer and one regular one and it is over $40! Why do I have to buy free! I do not need one for the computer! Anyhow, she was really excited to watch it but she did not want to dance around since her one arm was hurting her still from yesterday's shots.

I did not get much done in the house today, sat on the computer a lot and chatted with Pap... I was a bit low today. :(

Amber and I went over to the local community centre after dinner to do a 45 min spinning class...Little I knew ...I thought I would just sit on a bike and paddle away....just relaxing. NO, that was not the case, we had to stand up to ride the darn bike- which was better anyway since the seats are so hard and uncomfortable ( and yes Amber warned me about it and told me that I should probably purchase a gel seat pad for the bike, but I completely forgot ) and I had to keep turning up the numbers on my bike, that turned it down, than climb, than go fast, YES I was SPINNING, my head anyway. I really enjoyed this workout and I am sure to go back once a week. After our workout we came back to have a fresh made fruit and vegetable juice and some pine nuts and cashews. Amber needs to consume more vegetables and fruits ( my fussy eater :) ) She looked like she was going to escape without finishing off her juice but I caught her and ordered her to drink it all up!

Yeah, she is my new best friend, right...? I have my own personal fitness trainer now!

Starbucks coffe and other interesting things in one day

So I am a busy girl today... I decided to make potatoe and leek soup for dinner since I had these vegetables picked from our farm on the weekend. I had to make my dinner for tonight in the morning since I had to take the kids for their check-up at 2 pm and than I was heading out just after our dinner to do a gathering. So I am cooking and come to the pint where I need to add my organic vegetable broth to the soup. After spicing it up I taste it and it tastes awful! What did I do wrong??!! So I checked the expiry date and it was expired on the 2nd of June, 2009! 3 months exact today and I just purchased it on Monday at our local Sobey's. So I call up the company to complain on the customer service rep girl was not too nice, but she said I could just send you a coupon and she did not even say bye. She was very rude I just wanted to make a point that I had to throw my dinner out and wasted my morning and now I need to make another dinner....ARGHH, I am so upset. So I call up Sobey's and the customer service lady was very nice, very understanding and she directed my call to the manager. Wow, he was something, I have many words to use for him, but I will not. He does not introduce himself, to begin with, I thought and employee picked the phone up since he jut kept hello-ing. So I said it it Tunde Duncan, is that the manager. Yes, he says it is Frank. Ok, so I explain what happened and he seems he does not understand English, So I tell my story again and that the vegetable broth was expired etc...So he tells me to bring it in to test it. So I say it is in the soup but I can bring the empty box and my receipt...Well, he says I am sure it is ok, (I am pissed right now. ) you know when you buy a box of cookies you know, even if it expires it should be ok. Well, I said it expired 3 months ago, and it does not taste good. Id does not matter how long ago expired it should not be on the shelf. So he says ok, bring the box in and I will do something nice for you ( like I am a child or what, what nice thing is he gonna do for me ) He did not even understand the brand " Imagine" Organic vegetable broth so I yelled at him , since I had to repeat myself 3 time. I say, Do you speak English, I am yelling from the top of my lung now and you do not get it??!! Imagine, just like imagination, how do you want me to say it???? Arghh... So he says what do you want me to do? WOW!!!!! I said: you are the manager you could probably say at this point instead of arguing with me that sorry Madam, I will have someone to check the shelf and remove if there are any more expired products there. Ok, he says I will do that and come in I am here today till 5 and I will do something nice for you. ( will I get a massage, that would be something nice he could do, I mean he could pay for a spa treatment, lol) Anyway I went in after 1 pm, he was not there, I got my money back... Too bad I really wanted to see him...Anyhow I left my number with someone to have him call me. Lets see what happens. I am just upset since I have to order a stupid pizza.

My hubby texts me in the morning that he brought Reba a latte and she did not know it was him She was behind him..lol. So I check FB and sure enough she posts that she loves Aurora, a guy just bought her a Latte. Hahaha, little she knew. So comments after comments she still does not get that it was Ken. So I call her and explain I could not keep myslef from telling her. She did not catch on and she did not beleive me! I posted on her FB saying, I know who bought you your latte, and the jerk , must have a wife and two kids at home, I wish he got me a coffee... still she did not get it. So I told her add Ken on your FB friends and say thanks to him, still nothing, lol I guess she needed another latte. :)

Ok, so I am driving in the left lane on Yonge Street taking the kids to the doctor and a pick-up truck is slowly coming in my lane, woooondering slowly...it get so close it is almost touching my van so I lay on the hor! Hooooonk! He must have been on the phone or something, I did not see the driver, I was just watching the truck so closely in fear of getting hit! I honked, he slowly wondered back into his lane and back out to the left no signaling...

After lunch I took the kids for their dr app. Riley needed his 6 months check up and Chloe needed her 4-6 year shots. Riley is on the top of everything, height weight, he is 8.95 kgs ( 19.69 lbs ) at 6 1/2 months. Chloe was nervous about her needles and kept asking a lot of questions fro Dr Leader. She made a little cry , more like a little weep, and I jelly cookie from the coffee shop made it all better. What a big girl! I was very proud of her.

So on the way home she is asking me: " so mom, I do not get a needle ever again? " No, I say, you will not get one until you are 15. Ook, so she says will I still be living with you? I guess, I say, You will have to live with us till your are 18 at least than you can move to your own house. Ok, I will move than when I get bigger. I say: Why would you want to move to your own house? Would like to have a husband and kids? No, she says, I guess I do not want to move, I can just live with you. So I laughed and she told me not to say anything to Daddy about our little conversation. I wish I could get into her little head sometimes and find out what she really thinks... Gotta love kids :)

Well, for dinner I ordered pizza , since my soup was ruined. 5:30, dinner time, phone rings, guess who it is?! It is FRANK, the weired Sobey's store manager ( he has been at this location for 2 days, what a great job he is doing already! ) So he says thank for coming in, Even though I missed him I say that is ok. Well, he says, I was thought not to lat, so I say did you out for lunch, he says no, I went to tour the new Longo's with my Boss. He says it is busy and pricey. (Ok, what does this have to do with me? ) So he says, I told you I will do something nice for you ( I am still hoping for a massage :) ). Why do not you come in and I will buy you dinner! What !!!! I am thinking WTF!? He say, I will buy you dinner so you do not have to cook one night , I will buy you some chicken and vegetables ( I did not tell him I was a vegetarian, probably he could not process that information ), so I said thank you to him... I have no Idea how he is going to execute his plan but he told me to come in and look for him. I hate this, I just wanted to make a point that my dinner was ruined, and I craved the darn soup too, and I had to order a pizza instead. Anyhow, Frank is going to do something nice for me :)

So after dinner I rush out to the a gathering. Rebekah had some lovely ladies to join her and I hope they all had fun. I hope they liked my surprise as to what I added to the card we made as the gathering project. :) Oh my goodness, she had so much goodies that I have to say no to just because I am trying to watch my weight... next time! How small this World is! I met the ladies that know Veronica: Sheril and Diana! Hi Vern!

So I am all tired out...

Tomorrow my FIL is coming to look after Chloe so I can get some stuff done in the house.

Sorry, no layouts or pictures tonight hopefully tomorrow.... Mind you, I am going spinning tomorrow evening...gotta get into shape!

I am just simply, really tired today, so I am not going to chit chat here but have a shower and go to bed. I always stay up way too late. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day for me and hopefully I will not have cranky kids. Chloe is suppossed to get her shot tomorrow so we are going to pay a visit to our family doctor. She is very nicce, she is off for the summer and starts back tomorrow...We decided to wait for her to come back to deal with Riley's 6 months old chekup and shot so Riley is going to get a shot tomorrow , unless she can not fit him in, I hope she can, otherwise I have an appointment booked for him for the 11th of September.

I had a nice little break I wish it had lasted longer but I am thankful no matter what. I needed some time off. Friday night Bozena and Flaviu came over and just relaxed. Riley goes to bed at 9 pm and sleeps till at leas 8 am .... ( I know, I should not complain about anything but I will have to ). So my baby decides to stay up till 10.30 pm to " party " with us and is up at 7 am on Saturday morning! Yep, that is right, since we do not have Chloe here to wake us up in the morning Riley takes over her role, little bugger. I just wanted to sleep in. Can and I had a relaxing morning and did our own things.He fiddled with the jetskiis and I did some house stuff, organized my scrapbooking stuff and made 2 more cards a double page layout. I will post pics of it. I went for a little walk with Riley. We went to Moxies with Ken's friends and than came back to our house and just relaxed with a cup of tea. :) We had a really good time both nights. AND the house was quite and tidy. :)

Sunday morning we had an early riser again, but it was all good, since I wanted to head up North at an early time... So after our breakfast we were ready to go to get our little noisemaker back. from gramma's house. ( Chloe ).

Chloe was happy to see us. She had a great weekend away. She went shopping to Bigleys in Bobcaygon, and got 3 pars of shoes and a pair of new slipper for grandma's house. Apparently she screamed with excitement looking at all the pretty, fancy highheel shoes.....I also got a pair of nice, brown boot, but unfortunately I did not like the style, thanks grandma, it was a nice thought. I will be there next week to check the out myself. Chloe want to an art gallery and to the Peterborough Zoo and out for lunch in Lakefield. What a busy little girl.

I weeded tomatoes and picked some, and I even managed to make some tomatoe sauce after getting back home tonight. I picked onions, cucumber, zucchinies, leeks and carrots too, I had so much zucchini es and cucumber that on our way home dropped some off at Bozenas.

Tomorrow we are having some potatoes and carrots for dinner. Chicken for daddy and Chloe and I will have zucchini fritters, YUMMY!

So I am all tired now. And on top of this I realized I do not have a baby anymore. Riley is pulling himself up to stand in his crib so I had to ask Ken to lower his crib....TROUBLE! I see a busy little boy going everywhere and getting into lots of things soon!

Well, Hope you all had a nice weekend! All I can think of is 10 more sleeps till school starts for Chloe, she will be in SK! She can read and mastered finally her 5's and 8's. I am so proud of her!

Child Less - well one less child in my house

YEEeeaaAaahhh! Grampa came to pick Chloe up to take her back to the farm for the weekend! She did not want to go, she said she only wanted to visit and wanted to see Princess ( Her Kitty, that is right no kitties in my house, lol ). I really needed a break from her so it just came at a perfect time. Remind me when is school starting again??!! :) I can not wait!
Ken was really excited to take us to a nearby go-kart place. So he rushes home to have dinner with us, though he finds Chloe sitting in the corner as soon as he steps in the house. My kid is non-stop blowing into her pasta hole-penne flute. So after several warning she sits 2 time out. I am pulling my hair out,, she did not listen all day. I really had a hard day with her so as much as I wanted to have some family time I refused to go with the go-karting. Ken and Chloe took off and I caught up with some hosue stuff. Ken and Chloe really enjoyed watching the go-karts race. They could not go-kart since there was a racing league going on that night. We are all planning going together on Monday if all behaves well and mommy does not get a nervous break down by then.

So I am enjoying the peace and quite now, I should wake Riley up though... Gotta get some groceries and some drinks since we are having Bozena and Falviu over tonight.

So I started getting the kids ready to bed early since school is just around the corner! Yippeee! Well, I guess I am more excited than anybody else but I just want to slow down now, if that is possible. To be honest it is me who needs to be re-scheduled... I am a night owl and actually so are my kids. We like to sleep in. We usually get up at around 9 am and when school starts I have to be up latest by 7 am, Ouch! I am not looking forward to that part of the school starting. Anyhow, we were out the door on our way to " school" in the morning. Early which is 10 am Chloe was riding and I was speedwalking after her which was great exercise for me. Chloe kept complaining that her knees hurt, oh well, get used to it Girly! You are being trained for our morning walk or bike ride to school. :) Riley enjoyed his stroller ride, he hang out on the side of it and chewed on the stroller's different sides and parts while looking down on the sidewalk. Gosh, Chloe kept whingeing all day...she said she was itchy but I did not see anything. Boy o boy! By dinner time I noticed a red spot over her eyebrow and so I checked her out. She had H-U-G-E RASHES ON HER UPPER BODY! The size of my palm! So Riley is still sleeping at 6 pm, Ken is on his way home to take Chloe to the walk in clinic. Whew, not to woorry, it is an allergic reaction to something, but who knows what the doctor said. Give her Benedryl and she'll be fine. We'll see. he poor thing. Love ya Baby! I was really tired today and could not wait the day to end. By 9 pm both kids were in bed and I had a loooong , hot shower and a cup of tea after while working on some Twitterpated cards and pages.

A cool weekend at the cottage

Friday night we headed out to Four Mile Lake to spend the weekend at a rented cottage with my in-laws and her friends. We were hoping for good weather so we could finally enjoy the water but the weather Gods were not so nice to us. My MIL and I went out on the Kayak on Saturday late morning. The lake was so beautiful, like a glass mirror. I had such a nice relaxing time. We saw a loon family just a few meters from us, they gilded by us on the water to take off...
Once we got back to the cottage Ken ( husband ) took Chloe out on the jetski. She was very excited because daddy had promised her she could drive. And she did. She was so proud we all had to watch her. " Mommy, Mommy! Watch me Iam driving! " That is all she yelled out to us..Brrrmmmm. It was funny to watch her as she kept revving the engine up and go very slow.

In the evening my MIL friends were relaxing with us at the main cottage. Shelley, my MIL and I played games after the kids went to bed. One of my fav game was on the menu - Scrabble and some other games. I really had a great time.

Sunday was cool and rained all morning.Linda ( my MIL ) and I decided to leave the boys with the kids and head to the farm to harvest some of the vegetables we organically grew. We picked, cucumber, zucchinis, spinach, onions and some tomatoes and potatoes, oh and leeks too. I do not have to mention that my fridge was full with almost vegetable only. I already made tomatoe sauce and baby food for Riley from the zucchini. I also made tasty Hungarian cucumber salad, YUMMY!

I also got some time to scrapbook. I prepared some stuff for these Christmas cards and the new Twitterpated layout at the cottage. I am tired since I just finished working on the projects. Let me tell ya, it was much easier with only one child, I definitely had more mommy time. I still love my babies and would not change anything in my life! :)

Crazy Day...

Oh Boy! What a day! Riley was cranky aaaalllllday. If I was out of his sight or if I put him down to play on his own he was screaming. It started once we got to Carol's house to get my ''NEW" CTMH bag and to drop off the layout I made for her and her stamp. Ok, so after a very short visit in we get the van and off we go to Nature's Emporium. Not a lucky day there either. He did nit want to be in the car so he screamed...I had to take the car seat out and carry his heavy little body around in ti while pushing the cart and watching Chloe bouncing all over the place. And on top of it I did not get what I was looking for. After a tiring day, at 3:30 in the afternoon I decided to drive down to the Bella store since Emily called me to let me know they have the markers I was looking for. I told her that my hubby will go to pick them up tomorrow on his way home from work, that way I will only buy what I need not what I want. :) Well, I was crazy enough after having a fussy baby all day to start driving down knowing I will hit traffic on my way back home. Oh well, Riley sleeps well in the car, so lets head out. Nope, As we got closer to the store Rile got cranky again. At the store I was caring him in my arm trying to shop, but Emily was nice to help me out... AND I met a lady who was there with her husband I would say they were about 60 years old. The lady told me she was stamping for over 20 years now and she had over 3000 stamps!!!!! Crazy!!! AND her husband started stamping 10 years ago since he was bored left alone all the time so he figured he would pick up his wife's hobby. How Cute! They were looking at the products together admiring them. :)Trust me, my hubby is not a stamper, he likes what I am doing but he likes his cars and jetskiis better. Anyway, I got what I wanted and even what I did not go for at the Bella store. So the drive was not too bad on my way home... I was relieved when Ken got home since he was driving in Vaughn around the time the tornado hit. How crazy this weather.... I really enjoyed watching the rain drizzle tonight...I fed Riley outside some home made organic zucchini ( from our farm ). Chloe was skipping in the rain while we gazed at a beautiful double rainbow.

Even though I was tired and could not wait to get to bed I decided to make some cards. Tonight I used my Bird Basics and Happy Birthday stamps set - CTMH stamp sets - and here are the cards I put together. Again, I can not figure my camera out...

Just another Tuesday, but a fun one...

My morning with the kids started out really nicely. Riley was a sleepy head today and soon after he woke up he went back to bed. Chloe listened to her fave songs on her MP3 player sitting on her bed as a teenager. Gosh, these kids grow up so fast, you blink and another year passed by it seems. Chloe was excited to have Jenna and her sister over for a play date. Claire had her friend invite her last minute so she did not come. Chloe and Jenna played awesome together: they painted, we went for a walk and to the park, and after a great lunch they had some ice cream.

Tomorrow we are going to the splash park again with our good friends kids Viki and Stephania and meeting some other moms too. Should be another fun day.

On the weekend I was speaking with my parents and sister and they were busy making the fence for the house. My Aunts were arriving to visit them on Saturday for a week. It would be so nice to be there and enjoy everyone's company. Hope they all have a great time as the celebrations for the Carnival on the 2o th of August is coming up. It is like Canada Day. Celebrating our country. My sister works at the Thermal Furdo in Debrecen so she is going to take my aunts there for treatments and to just enjoy the water. Ahhh, I remember 2 years ago when we were there how nice I felt after being pampered every day for 2 weeks in the mornings. Thanks Sister! :)

Succesfull Garage Sale

It was a succesfull day for our neighbourhood garage sale. I got rid of a few big items and some small. AS we were packing up a lady stopped by and she purchased all my kids clothes!!!! 4 HUGE boxes. I got rid of it for cheap, but at least I did not have to bring it back to my house. She even went over to my neighbours and bought all her kids clothes up too. Apparently she was sending them over to Japan to a church. ( well I hope, because we gave her a really great deal! )

Chloe was very excited Friday as we told her she could have a Lemonade stand. She was not such a great sales girl though, but luckily one of the little girls on the street helped her out. Chloe made $19.50 selling fresh, home made lemonade. She wants to use the money to buy the Hannah Montana Movie. :)

Chloe had a little friend Madison come over to play after the garage sale. The girls played perfectly, they were soo good. All of a sudden I heared music blasting from Chloe's room. The girls were playing BRATZ and listening to FYC, lol. It was too cute.

I am exhausted and dissapointed... I promised my parents that I would make them a scrapbooking album since they were here for 2 weeks to visit. There is no way I can complete it. I was supposed to send it home with my sister's sister-in-law next week, but it will not happen. Too many pictures, too many pages. I told my parents they will get it for Christmas. They were ok with that.

My parents' are here to visit us!

I am soo excited since I have my parents here for a short visit from Hungary! I have been so busy with preparations since we are heading out to a cottage to spend the rest of their stay there. Hopefully the weather will be warm enough to enjoy the water. It is so peaceful and beautiful at this Four Mile Lake Cottage. I really can not wait to be there. My MIL bought another kayak so Chloe can go on it with her, that would be interesting... haha and she is trying to convince me to go on it with her, well good luck. :) Chloe is signed up for swimming lessons for the 2 weeks while we are there. I cannot wait just to sit around enjoy the water the peace and quite if that is possible with 2 kids, my parents and and my in laws there. :) I am looking forward to campfires and roasting marshmallows.I packed a few thing already, like our beach towels and swim wear, some food...ohh this does not sound such a good progress...I need to get on it tomorrow! Today my mom and I made cabbage rolls. I am a vegetarian but the rest of the family isn't. We'll take some with us to the cottage for my in-laws too, and I froze some for our use. AND Mari Mama ( my mom ) made home made doughnuts today! It was a hit with Chloe. She loved it with powdered sugar on it just like daddy ( I call it Canadian style ) and we ate it with organic apricot jam on it.
My parents absolutely adore the kids, they get worn out. It is so nice to have them here but I am sure the goodbyes will be hard and emotional. Chloe went from being shy (on the first day of meeting her grandparents ) and not talking even in English, to trying to express herself in Hungarian more and more....I really need to make an effort to speak to her more in Hungarian.

Ohhh.... it has been a few long day, but fun. Hubby is back from fiddling with his jetskiis, the kids are asleep, knock on wood, off I go to spend time with my better half. :)

I can not wait to get some pics printed of our cottage vacation, I am going to make an album for my parents...of course I am going to use Back Country ....an amazing paper design by Close To My Heart.

I have been so busy here that I have not done much scrapbooking lately. I am hoping I can post some layouts soon after our vacay is over.

This is the card that Chloe made last night with me. Who sasy kids can not have fun scrabooking and cardmaking!? We really had a good time..

My little cool dude. Yep, I got him a pair of sun glasses since he does not like his hats muh... When I put the glasses on his head he just kept making this sniffing sound. It was too funny, I guess he did not know what was going on, he saw the world in a different colour. :)

This is a card I made last night with my new CTMH stamp set. It is called TREE TOPS. I love the they are so cute. Hope you guys like this card...

It has been so long since I have posted here. I did a few layouts but I still need journaling done, and with two kids on the go I have not much time... :( Also, since the good weather is here we have been spending most of our weekends at my MIL's farm. We are planteg a vegetable garden and this year it is quite big. Potaoes, rasberry bushes, onions, leeks, radieshes, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, spinach, beans and peas....whew that is it I think. So I am keeping really bsy there since I love our organi vegetables! Nothing better than fresh picked vegetable and fruits from the garden.

Chloe was really excited, about 2 weeks ago grandma put her hair into curlers...She was really looking forward to getting her hair done. Here is a picture of her hair all curly.

We took a little break and went for and ice cream with Grandma to Bobcaygon about 20 minutes from where they live. We had such a wonderfull time. We stopped at a park by the beach to have of course some fries and took some pictures too. I can not wait to scrapbook those pictures.

Riley is all smiles, he is my happy boy. :)
